Coincidentally, the intersection of policy and research regarding poverty also happens to be the focus of a symposium to be hosted at PLAAS/UWC in next few months.

Researchers, ToC and impact
This excellent post by Duncan Green at From Poverty to Power titled "Can theories of change help researchers (or their funders) have more impact?" should be read by anyone who has an interest in research, policy or impact. Looking not just at researchers but at institutions and incentives that prevent (or at least don't encourage) impact-ful research and/or effectively communicated research. Watching own research ideas get mangled into something more concerned with process (and peer review) than impact making this doubly relevant in own little world.
