Museveni backs his wife for president

Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, recently acknowledged that constitutional limits prevent him from remaining in office beyond the age of 75 and wants his wife to take over.
Apparently, First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni has emerged as the preferred successor to the president, with the full backing of her husband, who is also chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement.
(More here from The East African.)

Army chiefs,  a key support base and the group Museveni chose to hear the news first, apparently reacted with stunned silence. Eish.
