HRW concern over Angolan crackdowns

Human Rights Watch has raised concerns over the Angolan government's crackdowns on protests, activists and opposition in recent months. According to HRW, Angolan authorities have shut down 5 protests since January 2012, arresting 46 people. Violent attacks on anti-government protesters were also reported on several different occassions. Parliamentary elections are planned for later this year. April 4th also marks 10 years since the end of the Angolan civil war.
