Mozambique Cholera

As the rainy season winds down in Mozambique, cholera has come Maputo for the first time since 2007. One person has died and scores have been admitted to hospital since 21 April, particularly in the poor Costa do Sol community. Government launched a campaign, as soon as the first case was picked up, to encourage locals to practice hygiene as far as is possible and a treatment centre has been set up with tents to accommodate up to 2000 people.
