HRW calls on Angola to withdraw cybercrime bill

Human Rights Watch has called on Angola to stop pushing a proposed cybercrimes legislation which it says will grant police a blanket right to search and seize information without due oversight. The internet is an important tool for human rights activists and opposition in the country, where traditional media are heavily regulated. HRW claims the bill was pushed through without proper consultation or public debate.
