Election Season Africa: South Africa local elections

South Africa votes today local government elections. Polling suggests that ANC popularity across the country is likely to decrease but there are hundreds of parties running for thousands of seats, local results are difficult to predict. The ANC is attempting to win back support in the Western Cape, where the DA has ruled Cape Town Metro for the last few years. Nelson Mandela Bay Metro (PE) will be another hotly contested area, with commentators predicting a wide-open race.
