13 000 in emergency camps - Namibia

Namibian authorities have confirmed that at least 13 000 people are living in emergency flood camps, although numbers could be as high as 20 000. It sounds like most camps are fairly well supplied with basic necessities and officials and Namibian Red Cross are concerned about hygiene and water-borne diseases.

There are also hopes that the last of the flood-water may be passing, meaning that things could start to move in the direction of getting back to reconstructing semblances of normality.
