I'm often skeptical about easy stats but they really can have an impact (particularly when true). For example: 1 in 3 people on the planet has TB. It has impact for me because it's terrifying. TB kills people. XDR-TB kills people more.
World TB day was last week. I somehow missed it. Perhaps an indicator or how little attention is paid to TB here where it should be such a prominent issue. Perhaps just life craziness. It is, however, crucial. Awareness, support and political pressure to ensure proper treatment is available everywhere are needed to deal with this ongoing crisis. What is South Africa doing about it?
